Dillon Dies, Prices and Backordered

As their SDB comes with dies and they do not have them available I guess they are not able to sell that press at all right now.
Just because individual die sets aren't available doesn't mean that presses comping with dies aren't. It is like ammo being available with primers being in short supply.

Their profit is larger selling the whole unit than parting it out

I just went and looked at buying a couple of pistol crimp dies, and was shocked to see that they wanted $20 shipping. That’s just silly.

Agree, Dillon shipping is really high. Look for places that sell Dillon stuff. I've used Ben Stoeger and Titan in the past just because of Dillon's shipping charges.

I ordered a set of backordered 44 mag square deal B dies (conversion kit) last week and had a tough time with the $130 price. I just looked today and they already went up to $145 for a conversion kit.

Yeah....they appeared to have raised pricing (again) on Jan 1...I know that they aren't in the business of losing money, but it's getting a bit steep.....
Although I'm a user/fan of Dillon products, I guess we do have the option of NOT buying their stuff....:(

I just checked the Dillon site and 3/4's of their SDB caliber options are for back-order only. FWIW: I'm not a customer of theirs but I do admire their business philosophy and structure. I have followed them for years and, while I have never had a need or want for their products, if I did I would not hesitate. I've found they try to keep their customers in mind. It didn't strike me as their corporate style to cut off their old customers by reserving supplies for their new ones exclusively.

Take a look at enterprise-class server processor and RAM prices and availability. It will make you feel a whole lot better about Dillon.
And, yes, since we are using that technology to complain about reloading gear prices, I'll argue it is on-topic.

The entire economy is turbulent right now, and inflation is getting pretty high. I don't know what it takes to produce a Dillon die, but they're having problems. Are they US made? Are some of the components on ships in LA harbor? Is carbide scarce right now?

today jan 8 2022 is exactly 0ne year ago that i ordered a set of .40 S@W dies from Dillon ,..still have not received them ,everytime i call ,they just say a couple more months

I did see today @ Scheel's that they still have old pricing on the Dillon stuff.....
Go there to get it, or have it shipped to you for free (the shipping is free, not the product)...I see the online prices are the same as the lower store prices...might as well take advantage while it's available.....IF you feel the need...;)
