Something I have noticed is that there are various methods taught for disarming a pistol weilded by only one hand, most involving a fast twisting or torquing of the wrist. But I have never seen a procedure demonstrated for disarming a handgun in a two hand hold, such as Weaver or Isosolese. I was wondering if anyone had ever been taught such a technique, because it would appear that simply holding the pistol with both hands would make it almost impossible to disarm someone.

There are several ways. Most of the joint manipulation techniques, if delivered properly with the necessary force and violence can work whether the grasp being broken is one or two-handed.

Best way to learn some good ones would be at a solid combative or MMA school in your area...or get into law enforcement or the military.

It's all about leverage, just like one handed. In fact, they now don't have a free hand to counter and in the directions you move the gun and wrists their own arms and fingers can increase your leverage and pain.

Try it yourself, hold your hand out in a fist and twist it inward, you should be able to basically invert it, thumb up to thumb down.

Now put your hands in a Weaver or Isoceles and do the same right hand inward turn. You can't keep your hands together and get much more than 90 deg. before your left wrist and elbow will lock out. At that point it's either pain or letting go with the left.

Another method is to move out of the line of fire, grab the weapon with one hand and strike the face with the other. In most cases the weapon is released at this point. This is a generalized statement and specific movements are taught but this is a proven technique.:D

And if you're off even one mircro second in your moves, the next step is to put your head between your legs and kiss your a** good by.

Yep, but since the only reason any sensible person ever tries for a disarm is when they think they will be killed if they don't, I can't see that it makes any difference one way or the other.

If I die, I'll die trying. Not on my knees pleading for mercy.

If you have a head left to put there
