I admit it. I watched and even enjoyed "Top Shot", and when I saw them throwing tomahawks, I said, "that looks like fun". So I dropped one in my Midway cart on my next order. $20 some bucks for the CS Rifleman Hawk.

What a Blast! I have a couple dying trees in my yard that I'm cutting down this summer, and I spent an hour or so learning to throw. It was surprisingly easy to get that first stick, and unbelievably fun to experiment with distance and rotation. Even better that the trees are about the right distance apart to minimize the walking and maximize the throwing.

For 20-30 bucks, you can't beat the fun for the money, and it's a useful tool to boot. I wonder if I can get close enough to that feral cat.....

Glad to hear it, mate - have fun!
You know, TheHighRoad has always been a "gun forum" but I find that likeminded individuals are constantly drawn together here and as such, let me just say to every proud American, whether it's firearms banter, 2nd Amendment politics, or just plain old patriotic speeches that are your thing; everyone of us Americans here should acquire and respect their very own tomahawk if you live in this country!
I mean, besides the numerous practical reasons to have a 'hawk, they are part of our heritage coast-to-coast and across cultural boundaries. Just as the Ghurka-people's awesome kukri blades of Nepal have always been a certain type of cornerstone to their culture, America is the home of tomahawks and they should truly be the subject of national pride. All things considered, they're really not a "big deal" some might argue, but they're as American as Boyscouts or the Colt Peacemaker for heaven's sake!
One day, should the fiance' and I find ourselves so blessed w/ a son then I look forwards to a man-to-man walk in the woods some cool autumn morning where I can pass down one of my own 'hawks, whack him on the head and say something profound sounding like, "Pay attention, boy. This is a tomahawk. It is an important element of your American heritage and you will learn to respect it and depend on it. This was mine for a long time, now it's yours - let's have some fun!" or something, I dunno, I never really had a dad. Man, I'm looking forwards to it...

While listening to jazz, and drinking corn whiskey, all uniquely American! ;)

I had the rifleman's hawk, its great but I always thought of it as more of a hatchet, great for chopping down small trees and splitting wood, but kinda heavy for throwing. Try out the trail hawk if you get a chance, its a lot lighter which might make it harder to stick in your thicker barked trees but it feels a lot easier to throw to me.

Fun as heck and cheap enough to have four or six of them to throw at stuff and one to carry in a bail out bag. I have a Viet Nam Hawk on order for mine.
