Do state and community Police officers take an oath to defend the constitution?

Like members of the military who take an oath to defend the Constitution of The United States against all enemies, are those words in the police officer oath?
The federal LE oath?

If it is, then we can continue shaking our heads at the possibility of enforcing gun confiscation and other abuses.

If not, then aside from being United States citizens (let's not get me started on that), they have sworn no oath that would prevent them from carrying out the order to 'turn them all in, Mr and Mrs America'.

Anyone know?

Federal LEO's take the oath to defend the Constitution. However, you're making the same mistake as is made by many Constitutional "purists" (of whom I'm one myself, BTW). What the Constitution says is one thing: what it means is entirely another. The latter is decided by the Supreme Court: and if the SCOTUS decides that the Second Amendment does not prevent the State from confiscating certain firearms, then LEO's are going to abide by that interpretation and act on it.

There are no silver bullets in the fight to retain RKBA. Its going to be difficult and it will take a long time. If we win, we wouldnt need the protection of the constitution because no one will come for the guns. If we lose, the constitiution wont protect us any more than it protected Emerson and countless others who got railroaded by the corrupt circuit courts.
