Do you feel bad when taking advantage of others?

A long time ago, I picked up a Glock 20 for $375. Although that's a decent deal in itself, the 4 high caps and the lasermax that came along with it made it a smoking deal.

You found a motivated seller who was willing to dicker.

Nothing wrong with that... free commerce, you both agreed to the transaction.

Nope. "If God didn't want them sheared, he would not have made them sheep." Some folks just ain't smart enough to plan ahead... I'm allus lookin' for them.;) For the rest, I gotta pay 'fair' prices.

I draw the line at some point. I saw a fellow selling a Colt Agent and Speed Six for a c note each and told him to raise the price. I own that Six now, though :D

With pawn shops and dealers I don't like, I never say anything. I picked up a 28/30 Finn marked as a "Roosian gun" at a little rat hole pawn shop for a C note. I have no sympathy for those guys.

Cosmo you shoulda bought em both.

I got a Winchester Speedpump 12 ga for $120, a NEF 20 ga single shot for $70, a Century L1A1 FAL with butthole stock and 6 mags for $350, all british parts with sandcut boltcarrier on a nice NGL Imbel receiver. You just have to be there instantly before the weenies hit the flag button; Up here in Central Ohio we have flagging wars break out where sellers start posting crap ads screaming at people for flagging them "Thanks for flagging me down now I can bump to the top!" Then it's like WWIII on Craigslist. Weenies will flag stuff for whatever reason they want and often it's because they don't think it should be "legal" to do it.

I must be nuts. When I was a stocking dealer in the eighties folks would stumble in and say " Could you give me $50 for this " I'd often pay more as I would still be able to make profit upon resale. I'm not at all adverse to a good deal, but there comes a point that it becomes preying on the unknowing. Just my opinion. Essex

Things are different around here! When I made some of my first postings, I mentioned that I bought a CZ-75 P-01 from a guy for $225. You should have seen how many people responded wanting to know if he stole it, I stole it, etc! Congratulations on your find!

It's funny... in the Bay Area... guns would be flagged almost as soon as they were posted and quickly removed. In good ole' Central Oregon, no one flags em... they stay up until they expire :)

I have a strong sense of mind never to rip people off. I am a gentleman with a good heart to help my fellow man. A pawn shop is a different story altogether. Some by their very nature rip people off. I love to give tips at the gun shows to prospective buyers that can piss off sellers just because I am a gentleman to the buyer.

if you give them what theyre asking and theyre happy with it are you ripping them off?I usually let someone set the price and work it from there. I'll make an offer after i find out what they want and usually will end up paying the best price we can agree one. I guess its just from years of going to the flea market I never want to pay the full price.

Me too, that's why when someone accepts my offer, I give them the money
