used Rem 700 in 7mm Rem mag, bell & carlson stock w/ pachy decelerator, leupold VXII 4-12,... all for $700, I may be able to get it for less.

The way im thinking is thats a $150-$200 Stock, $400-$500 scope and getting the barrelled action for next to free.

the thing is i have a .223 .30-30, several .308s, .25-06, and several .30-06 among my bro and dad i have access to several other rifles and calibers but no magnums. the bore was ok, but the trigger has been tuned. if anything when the time comes i would rebarrell it to 7mm again or .338Win. however, i told myself that the only rifles i would buy anymore would be .223 or .308 or 30.06 due to ammo costs. around here i only hunt pigs and maybe deer and coyotes. but i have those covered with my other calibers. although i would love to go to africa or colorado or utah for an elk hunt some day

Anyway, think i should jump on that deal ?

What would you use a 7mm Mag for?

Around here a 30-06 does just fine, a magnum just increases ammo cost and recoil.

and if you reload you can just about match the 7mm factory ammo is just under 100 feet per second slower and the 06 has way more character than a 7mm i stirred it up now did i not:D:evil: save your money

thats the thing . i dont NEED a 7 rem mag. at all. and i love my pre'64 70 '06 and my dads 60's vintage sako finbear in '06 and my '03 and my Garand.. so there lots of 06 around here to be shot.

I was thinking if the price got a little better, its such a good deal on the parts alone. even if i just bought it for the scope, i could burn the rifle for 500 still and be money ahead on a 400$ scope.

Re: Gun Deal

@ElToro
If you are not reloading, why don't you spend the money on a Reloading Kit!!???
Specially since you have some great rifles!!
The money you save over time will get you the scopes, actions etc. AND the pride, when your "handrolled" amo puts "one holers" for 5 round at 100.

YES, the deal sounds good, BUT ........
