Does Remington sell Police models to civilians?

Or, to dealers that will sell to civilians? What is the price on this model?

From what "Ive read, there aren't any laws against it. But Remington only distributes them to law enforcement distributors, so not all distributors that your dealer orders from will have the LE line or something to that effect.

I"m sure someone else can word it a little clearer.
 
An email to Remington on http://www.remingtonle.com will make clear they DO sell to "civilians". They'll tell you to go see a Remington dealer.

Here's the problem: Local dealers order Remington guns from Remington Factory authorized wholesalers. Not all Remington wholesalers are Remington Factory Authorized LAW ENFORCEMENT wholesalers.

So, many local dealers don't happen to buy from wholesalers that carry LE guns, and just don't want to go to all the trouble and time to make up a special order.

Either because they heard the rumor that Remington didn't sell LE guns to "civilians" and don't bother to find out for sure, or just to blow you off, they sometime tell you that Remington won't sell to them.

All you have to do, is find a dealer that DOES buy from a LE wholesaler, or find one who will special order one for you.
 
http://www.territorialsupplies.com/remshot.htm sells the 11-87P with ghost ring sights for between $625 (p/n 9857) and $660 (p/n 9868). But their website gives the impression they just might not sell it to YOU, unless you happen to be a LEO. Wouldn't hurt to give them a call, though.

Archery & Gun Outfitters in Montgomeryville, PA had a new 11-87P for sale for $750 for a long time. But for as many times as I looked at that thing, I can't remember what sights were on it. Last time I was there, it was behind the counter instead of out in the shotgun rack...
 
I went on Gunbroker, and the lowest price was $625. Would it be cheaper just to buy a basic synthetic 11-87 and equip it with your own ghost rings, mag extension, etc?
