Duracoat question

Anyone who has used this:

I am ready to apply, but I have used non-chlorinated brake cleaner and a final cleaning with ACETONE to prep the metal. I notice that DURACOAT 'recommends' using their proprietary preps to degrease.

Is my final use of Acetone good enough, or do I have to order their stuff?

(I called them and they said that I 'should' be OK - but has enyone out their used "other than" their stuff?)

I am painting a Century M70.

hi,

acetone and non clorinated brake parts cleaner could leave a film that the duracoat will not stick to. i would use electrical contact cleaner to degrease and clean the parts. contact cleaner leaves no residue. i suppose if you just finish off with the contact cleaner you will be fine. the main thing is leavingt no oils and any other substances behind before spraying the duracoat.

CRC contact cleaner works great .don't forget to plug the ends befor you spray ! this stuff doesent come off very easily
