For the past few years, I've been concentrating on collecting Colts and S&W's. I've always had a liking for revolvers, and that isn't likely to change any time soon. I haven't ignored semi's, but they just haven't been at the top of my lists.

Yesterday, I had the chance to widen my horizons a bit. My LGS had taken this semi in trade. It's an E.A.A. Witness, chambered in .38 Super. I already own a Springfield 1911-A1 in the same chambering. The price was right and, despite its weight, really felt good in my hand. A few bucks, and the appropriate paperwork, and I was on my way home with it.

Today, I took it to the range and "shook it out". What a pleasure to shoot! It has real balance, and the weight really absorbs the recoil. It's accuracy is great also. A 5" group @ 25 yards will do just fine.

I've shot a few CZ75's, its progeny, and this one is a great copy. I fired 50 rounds of Fiocchi in it, with no jams, and ejecting cleanly every time. The frame is a bit longer in the grip (I guess to accommodate 10mm kits). I think I'll keep this one.

I have owned a.45ACP Witness for years and ithas never failed me. My sons friend has a compensated Witness in .40 S&W and it too is great ot shoot.

I own several 45 caliper pistols (Springfield, Para, ect.) including my first 45 purchase used....Witness Carry 45 ACP. My Witness is the most accurate 45 I own hands down. Never have had one issue with it over the past 10 years.

Nice looking pistol, and no rail! I was really disappointed when they started putting rails on those pistols.

My Witness Elite Match 10mm is my favorite handgun by a wide margin. It has gone through a few parts (as one might expect with a 10mm), but it's far more accurate than I am, and just a delight to shoot. Even my wife, who is recoil-sensitive, likes shooting it.

If you ever want to start tinkering with yours, check out Henning Walgren's website and store (www.henningshootsguns.com). Replacement parts, upgrade parts, magazines, etc.
