I have a sporterized Eddystone model 1917 30-06 rifle. Does anyone know of a source that I can buy a bolt from? Numrich (e-gunparts.com) lists the Enfield (see also SMLE), but I don't think any of the bolt parts for the SMLE will work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Thanks for the links. I could swear that I input "enfield 1917" when I searched egun-parts.com, I must have typed something else. When I did it again after your reply I found the schematic.

It's been a number of years since I looked at the Eddystone, but if I remember correctly it won't eject a shell all the way. After going to the hoosiergunworks site and gun-parts site, and seeing the ejector listed on both sites it may be that, but I still think some part of the bolt broke. If time permits tonight I will check the rifle and know for sure.

Thanks again rcmodel

Cheery Rat, thanks I ordered the ejecter assembly you gave me the link for and will post a reply telling you if that was the fix. I agree with your odds that it is the cause of my problems.

When looking for parts for sporterized P17's look at the Remington model 30 it is the civilian model. you can find magizines and followers for differant calibers. and differant floor plates.

Enfield 1917's are listed under 'U.S. Military' on Gunparts site. A stripped bolt runs $24.95. An extractor runs $20.95 each. Like rcmodel says, you can't just change bolts.
