I wanted to relay this quick story about a recent purchase I made that was very positive.

I've been eyeing up the WE Knife Co, Chimera for a few months. I don't know what it is exactly but the overall appearance and great reviews made me think it might be a winner. I was also comparing the handle size to one of my favorites, the ZT0456. While the two have little in common, they both have thicker handles/scales
(which ever term applies) made completely of titanium. I have large hands and while some of my thinner knives are easier to carry, they don't feel as good in the hand during use. I've also always been a sucker for a clip point blade going back to a kid.

I was saving a bit of money as WE Knives are not cheap, and as it came closer and closer to buy I was noticing that most sellers on line were out of stock for this particular bronze anodized and satin blade finish version. There are left handed versions and stonewashed finishes. There's even a Damasteel version that's pretty nice looking. But I like this one. I started really focusing my Google powers and I stumbled across the following website.

https://www.edgeworksonline.com/

Prices were competitive, and the site looked legit. They also showed the knife I wanted as in stock. Could it be I actually managed to track one down? I'd been checking the bigger sellers sites and ordered one from ebay, only to have the ebay seller cancel the order and give me a refund. They were out of stock.

So with a heavy dose of skepticism about the actual validity of the "In Stock" listing, I decided to message them and verify. Within a half hour or so, the owner emailed me back stating that he had just gotten home, but was 99% positive he had one left. He checked his inventory and was kind enough to change the listing to out of stock for me so no one scooped it up. The next morning he found the knife, sent me a picture, and a private link on his site to where I could place the order.

The knife just showed up and I couldn't be happier. It fits my hand like a glove, and is brand spanking new. It's got a 4" S35VN blade with a 3.9" cutting edge. I really like the finish all around, and I can see the usefulness, functionality, and the appearance is going to lead to this being one of my favorite knives of all time.

The owner of Edgeworks went the extra mile and helped me snag a knife I REALLY wanted. That's great customer service as far as I'm concerned. Shipping was fast and free, and I was not charged any sales tax. If you haven't bought from them, I would say do so without hesitation. They carry nice stuff and their process are the same as other vendors on production knives.

Edge Works is one of the last physical stores to buy knives in my area, and I always am sure to stop in when I'm in town. The owners are cool guys and never try to be pushy. They deal with me honestly and know their stuff. I've bought a lot of cookware from them. I'm glad to see them doing well online as well as in person, especially these days.

Nice knife, 460Shooter. Nice finger choils. I like S35VN; good balance between "sharpenability" (is that a word?) and edge retention. I find that once I put on an edge I prefer, a quick stropping is all it needs to bring the edge back. I don't recall sharpening it a second time yet.

What makes a knife left-handed? o_O

What makes a knife left-handed?
They actually produce a reverse variant where the "show face" and the lock bar and pocket clip sides are reversed. That way it can be clipped to the left front pocket in the appropriate and safe orientation, tip up, blade jammed in the corner of the pocket, and spine and flipper tab facing out into the pocket. Not sure how much experience you have with flippers, but if you were to take a right hand oriented knife, and put it in your left pocket, the blade side would be facing into your pocket, towards your groin, and the flipper into the corner. If the flipper tab was inadvertently bumped, you could be reaching into your pocket with a partially deployed knife. It's one of the only things I don't care for on flippers.

WE Knives got this one right IMO. I actually like it enough I could see buying another one, if they produce more, and putting it in a lock box as a gift to myself for when I retire.
