I just bought a set of Silencio RSX-87's. I haven't used them on the range yet, but I have worn them in the house. About every other time I put them on, I get this gawdawfull buzzing on one side. It's always on one side - but not always the same side. A couple of times it stopped after I re-installed the batteries. I have florescent lights all over the house and wondered if that could be it...but it does't seem to be consistant with that either. I have walked in the yard and they seem fine. I'm trying to decide whether to return them..or keep em a while longer. They were a clearance item, so I got em cheap and hate to take them back. Anyone else experience this?

If you can only reproduce the sound when inside the house, then my vote is for interference.

Of course most indoor ranges use fluorescent lights, so you may want to trade them in if you shoot inside at all.

It wouls seem that way. But why only one side and why not consistantly?
I shoot indoors 75% of the time.....which concerns me. IIRC they use florescent lighting as well.

It may not be the lights. Lots of electronic devices radiate weak signals (or strong ones) that can be picked up by other devices. So you have some detective work to do. Is the TV on? Microwave? Computer? Is the cordless phone in use? is your neighbor a ham radio operator? Or using the CB or FRS radio? You get the idea.

My apartment is right in the beam of a new FAA radar that will start up within the year, about a mile away. Looking forward to the results of that, I am!

Oh boy....nearly all the above. I'm on a wireless PC as I type. Got wireless everything....including ceiling fans. The neighbor has some kind of big antenna on his roof. Oh well.... I know they work outside and I'll have to soon see how they work at the range. If I have to return them, I can always claim they were a Christmas gift.
