Embarassed and frustrated

The pencil trick is older than I am and by law I'm an antique.

My best guess is it is a sight picture problem. Try putting the target above the sights. Kimbers are usually set up for target sights. With target sights the target sits on top of the front sight.

I would like to add that, when inaccuracy is an issue the first thing I check is the way I grip the gun.

The guy who makes my holsters is 73. I described a similar problem to him about my SIG P220. He told me it's my problem and the problem is the gun. He said "You ain't holding it right. Get some new grips."

He was right. That gun is dead on with a pair $15 Hogue finger-groove grips.

Sometimes the cure is just too simple.

icebones-

We used the "pencil drill" with M1911A1's when I was in the Army. I don't think you'd need to tape a pencil for an M9.
