Emergency Beacon is a concept being used by a few Sheriff Depts around here. Many of you may already be familar with this. These Sheriff Depts are donating these to the elderly, those in poor health and mentally challenged. Businesses, Private individuals, even some of the Hardware stores are donating to the Sheriffs Dept.
I consider it another tool in the toolbox, not a replacement for a cell phone or other measures.
I understand these have proven worthy already. A child whom called 911 when her mom fell and knocked herself out turned it on and neighbors rushed over and the ambulance easily found the house. Another elderly women tending her husband whom had suffered a stroke used it the same way. She in fact had put hers in a window easily seen by neighbors and her lamp had 2 remote controls, though her husband's speech has been impaired, he could -if need push a remote.
I have no ties with, or recieve any financial gain.
Just another tool, perhaps for some.
