Hello everyone,

As I said in another thread on this forum, I am looking to order gun accessoires from the US, and have them delivered in Belgium.

First of all because many of them are hard to come by here (good luck finding a Marlin 336 front wood grip),
but also because most of it is much cheaper on your side of the ocean.
Even with import tax, sales tax and shipping I could save as much as 25-40%

I found someone in the US who was willing to receive my orders and ship them to me,
because most shops don't export.

Unfortunately, we don't live in very happy times, and the US government is concerned about where US-made equipment ends up,
preferably not in the wrong hands so that it can be used against American soldiers.

Now, neither of us wants to end up in trouble by exporting restricted goods,
so I would like some more information on what export is allowed and what is restricted.

I am planning to order a bipod, rings, scopemount, hunting/target (no mildot) scope, a marlin forearm, and some mags.

So basically my question is, does anyone have a clear and precise list of what is restricted and what can be freely exported,
and/or have a contact in the appropriate department so it can be checked what is and isn't allowed?

Thanks in advance,
Boris Barowski

note to mods: I looked around the forums and think "legal" is the best subforum for this.
If you think otherwise please feel free to (re)move the thread

Cant help you with a list, if there even is a comprehensive one out there somewhere. But, as far as I know, or can imagine, the things you listed arent an issue.

The only things I am aware of being restricted are night vision devices, certain types (or maybe all) body armor, items used in the manufacture of nuclear reactors and/or weapons, and that type of thing. Common items, for common commercial firearms are not a problem. They are concerned with high tech type stuff that would take away some of the edge or military has. bipods, regular hunting scopes, mags, scope rings, ect dont do that, thus arent an issue.

All that said, hopefully someone here knows more, and has info on how to verify that, as "better safe than sorry", is always a good policy when dealing with guns, and/or the government. I cant blame you, or the dealer, one bit for being very cautious.

good luck. I hope you get your stuff, and the info you are looking for.

Lots of AR accessories are restricted due to ITAR.. actually nearly all.

Once, i even was told that they couldnt send me a scopecoat for my ACOG....

what a joke.. We are issued full auto SiG550 in Switzerland, and the USA dont trust me enough to sell me a scopaecoat..

anyway, I know a couple of shops on the internet, that sold me all my M4 accessories (Acog, Eotech553, Handguards, Stock etc), ITAR or not.

And of course, most ebay sellers go over the ITAR as well..

Really? Well, I stand corrected then. I never would have guessed that.Thats what I get for trying to logically think about what they restrict and why, when I know darn well, when it comes to the U.S. Government, especially with anything gun related, logic is out the window. I knew better, and fell into the trap of thinking, when I should have just gotten drunk, and threw darts a list of stuff to decide, as it seems thats what they did.:D
