I was wondering if anyone here has seen/heard of a double stack 1911 magazine with a capacity of more than 14 rounds. I can imagine that a 20 round magazine would be about the same size maybe a little longer than the 10 round single stack magazines. It would be fun to have a 30 round magazine for a 1911 for the range.

There was a drum magazine floating around but I can't recall who made it. And it's probably not very useful or practical.

The 140mm tube with/ +2 wedge basepad for my SVI 2011 can hold 15 rounds of .45. You can get one more in with a 10mm Arrendondo basepad. For a while SVI made 170mm mag tubes in 45 that could fit 18 with a flat basepad, but they no longer produce them due to lack of demand.

ETA: Promag makes the drum, but its for single stack 1911s.

If you do, do yourself a favor and get factory mags or mec-gar mags. Pro-mag is the no-go mag, at least for the pistols I've tried them in.
