F Class in Colorado?

Looking to shoot some F Class, either TR or open. Is there anywhere closer to Denver than the rifle club in Byers? If not, does anyone have any experience with that range?

Any info about F Class in Colorado would be most appreciated.

Aha! A possible shooting companion!

I used to shoot XTC out at CRC, and it is a very nice range. I attended a F Class event out there a couple weeks ago. I did not compete, just observed. Once I have a stock, a scope, and some loads worked up, I'd be happy to join you out there.

There is Buffalo Creek, but I don't know frankly whether they shoot F Class there.

Once I get my membership credentials from the NRA, I think I will join CRC. It is a haul from anywhere, but it is the only 1000 yard range nearby I am aware of where competition is held. They have Frontier Sportsman Club in Colo Spgs, but that is even further for me to drive.

Buffalo Creek up in Bailey. Might be closer if you are on the west side.

F class requires alot of area and thats in short supply anywhere close to an urban area.

Interesting.... Bailey is only about an hour from me. And I like the idea of observing a match at CRC.

My current setup is best suited for F/TR. Been thinking again about rebarreling to .260 or just starting a new rifle altogether.

I run the prone matches at buffalo creek.

Come out and shoot this month. I have a big pile of F class targets we haven't even used yet. I have one F class shooter registered, and would love to have some more.

CRC info: I have only shot at CRC in the bencrest matches. But of all the 1000yd ranges I've competed at around the country, I beleive from a shooters perspective Byers is one of my favorite ranges to shoot at. Yes the wind blows there once in awhile (maybe a little more than that!!) but it is pretty honest range. Mirage and wind flags both. Just don't be afraid to not hold off paper sometimes to hit the paper. Been there done that!
Great trip, great range, and always great local shooters to visit with after the match is over.

I tried to get some 600 yard F-Class going in Pueblo, but it didnt work out. So we are sticking with the Tactical and Prairie Dog matches.

it is pretty honest range. Mirage and wind flags both.

I had half a dozen flags pointed in half a dozen directions at one point last month, and the mirage was going the opposite direction from where my bullets were hitting.

What could be more fun than that?
