The though of me doing this has started to seep into my head.

Research indicates there are a few ranges within 1-2 hrs from me that have F Class matches.

I'd love to hear experiences from those that have done it

I absolutely love it.

It's cheap enough to start in and get the experience to see if you'll even like it. Then if you do, you can upgrade stuff from there.

I have a few ranges within a 30min to 4 hour drive from me that I've shot at. All the people I've met have been great. They've all more or less let me pick their brains on reloading for competition, to equipment, etc.

Most FTR shooters, you'll find shoot .308 Win. On occasion, I'll shoot the .223 Rem at 600yd, just for something different.

Whereabouts are you?

Ah ok. Tulsa is a great place to shoot. We also hold matches in Benton, AR. I don't know how East Texas you are. Texas is kind of big. They got matches in OKC as well.

Being a Texan, you should get a good reception at your first match, unless Texas has changed a lot. Which I'm pretty sure it hasn't. Lol

Thanks for the info. I lived in broken arrow for several years. Loved Tulsa

Cool. When at my father-in-laws, and we're headed to Tulsa or Ponca City, we go through Broken Arrow.

I love the F-Class matches in Tulsa. Great folks out there. Very willing to answer questions.

They actually have a division for folks getting started. It's an unofficial division specific to Tulsa, but they have a Factory rifle division. Straight factory rifles, no mods. Excellent way to learn the game.

Where at in benton, I'm on the east side of Arkansas (mccrory ) and am curious also

I'll pipe in here, with my experience

It is very addicting, I started to shoot 600 yards last year, one thing i found out, you shoot more against yourself then against everybody else.

You find out where you are lacking weather it's equipment or experience pretty fast.

But like JW said you can add stuff and upgrade as you are able.

Just remember to not get frustrated and have fun.
