Here is just a thought that I had concerning FAB-10’s or what ever they are called in California.
After reading a thread about how these weapons have to be broke open and reloaded, I started wondering if a clip or device such as the M-1 Garand 8 Rd clip could be used for a fast reload.
A clip could be designed to hold 9 rds of 5.56mm (.223) and a spring mounted within it or permanently in the lower receiver well to feed the rds. Upward towards the bolt.

By simple opening the receiver and removing and replacing this clip one could charge the rifle much faster and easier while in the field etc.

Modifying the standard magazine release would take care of holding the device in place

Is something like this possible/ worth while or am I way of base?

Why not just use the adapter and a 10 round stipper clip? The problem with the "Modifying the standard magazine release would take care of holding the device in place" is that the FAB-10 was machined with out a mag release or a bolt hold open. Although the 8 round en-bloc clip of the Garand is a great thing, I don't see it catching on with a FAB-10 because of the completely different designs. Breaking the gun open to reload it is going to be slow no matter how you do it.
