depends,but the cool factor would be a Spike Tactical 37mm flare/gas grenade launcher. about $300 and looks sweet. Practical?...probobly not for 99% of civilians really.

Magpul MIAD is the best grip. MOE is good if i is in the configuration you want.
Stock wise I like the Magpul CTR, however I have heard good things about the ACS. I just haven't personally handled one yet.
Other alternatives are the Tagodown and Ergo grip and the VLTOR Mostock.
As for other accessories I suggest a quality QuadRail. Troy, Daniel Defense, or Larue are the 3 I would suggest. YHM can be ok but often have out of spec Rails.
Depending on your shooting style a VFG may or may not help you out. For me they make the gun much more controllable.
Sights I like Troy Front and rear Flip ups. Magpul MBUS are also pretty good and half the price for the set.
That covers most of the major upgrades except a sling and Sling adapter. These are varied but once again here I prefer the Magpul options although their sling is a bit thin for my taste.
Avoid junk by Tapco, UTG, CAA, or airsoft parts makers and you will be fine.
Finally all this stuff is junk if you don't know how to use the weapon properly. The most important accessory for any AR is practice and the proper training. Shoot till your trigger finger bleeds then put a band-aid on it and shoot some more.

I have an AR-15 style carbine on which I've placed a Magpul M93 stock. I first saw that stock in a magazine in 2003 that had an article about the USMC's first contribution to SOCOM with "Detachment 1" or "Det 1". I saw a photo in which several members of that team were on a firing line with their specially made Kimber 1911s aimed, while their iron sighted M4A1s hung from single point slings. Their faces were censored. Each M4A1 was painted tan, had a suppressor, and had a stock I'd never seen before. It looked like a good design. It has the same cheek weld regardless of where it is telescoped to, and comes with internal clips that allow you to have pre-set telescoping positions. Obviously something more for serious real-mccoy operators, but hey, I'm just a guy that likes guns and anything to do with them.
I figured some of our best warfighters were using them so I was mostly sold on the thing at that point. I looked that stock up and found it for somewhere in the neighborhood of 275 dollars, and I can't remember if that included the price of the two sling fittings I bought with it - one for a regular sling loop and one with an HK style snap ring. I also really hated the g*y foam padded non adjustable tube stock that was standard on my Bushmaster XM-15E2S and needed to replace it.

Pretty much everything Magpul makes is top notch. I've got a MIAD grip and a CTR stock on my primary AR and I like them very much.

No doubt I'm in the minority but I like a plain jane M4. Trim, lightweight and retro looking, that's the girl for me!

Best grip? Magpul MIAD with small inserts since it fits me the best. I use the spare bolt core and keep a spare bolt in it. Lots of AR problems can be solved with a spare bolt.
I like the fixed stock on AR rifles. Fewer parts to break and mess with.
Most the other stuff I try to keep off the rifle. Both ARs I own have optics (ACOG on the 20” rifle and Aimpoint on the 16”) but that's about it. Simple works and has a better chance to keep working. BSW

After using a LMT SOPMOD buttstock for the last several months (shooting daily), I definately appreciate the swells that allow for a better cheek weld. I didn't really notice before using it, but now, I certainly would.
So, keeping that in mind, along with the fact that the LMT is about $200, I'm vasilating between the Magpul ACS and the VLTOR Modstock or Enhanced Modstock. All appear good. The standard VLTOR Modstock can be had for about $95.
Pistol grip? I'll lend another vote for the Magpul MIAD.

After trying probably 3/4 of the grips on the market I finally and recently settled on the Hogue as my favorite. The Ergo grips, both original and "deluxe tactical," are also quite good, and the ATI grip isn't bad either. I own and have tried the Magpul MOE grip and did not like it really at all. I'd rather have an A2 grip than the MOE, for 1/6 the cost! I have not tried the MIAD or the TangoDown grips.
As for a buttstock, it depends heavily on personal preference. I actually like the plain jane A1/A2 stocks pretty well. On one AR I have a Magpul MOE telestock and it's great until you try to mount a 2- or 3-point sling intended for an M4 telestock, and find that the mounting slots and arrangement are all different. To me that's a big defect that they could fix for no cost beside a new mold. The MOE design almost forces you to use a receiver mounting plate for the sling if you want any decent sort of tactical setup (vs. an old-fashioned carry strap). Apart from sling mounting it's a good design that locks up fairly solid.
If price is no object the Magpul high end stocks (PRS and UBR) are probably good options, but you pay a lot for them. I have an ACE skeleton stock waiting to be assembled and it also looks good. Finally, a trainer I'm acquainted with highly recommends the Sully stock:

When I belatedly adopted nose-to-charging-handle I discovered that a.) my shooting with irons improved and b.) my fondness for A2 stocks suffered as they were a bit long for me with that usage. I had tried entry stocks and found them way too short, so I've mostly migrated to A1 length for fixed stocks.
Still, I wanted to try a possible improvement so I put an Ace ARFX-E (Entry) stock on a rifle with a DPMS buttstock extender:
Parallax pretty much negated the effort of putting the tape measure down; suffice to note that it's ~1" shorter than an A1 length stock. It feels pretty solid and shoulders nicely.
Because the screw holes in the Ace pad are deeply recessed normal flathead screws won't work. So I had to find some of these (which you won't find at Home Depot, Lowe's or Auto Zone):

with quentin...I like them lean and trim.
My exceptions are 1)a nice oversized grip and 2) an AR Gold trigger.

Hard to go wrong with the big players like Magpul, VLTOR, Troy, etc.
I have a bunch of ARs in a variety of calibers and configurations and don't have one favorite stock -- my preference varies depending on the configuration and purpose of each AR. If I had to narrow the field, I'd say the A1-length fixed VLTOR clubfoot for a fixed stock (although the ACE AFRX pictured above is another I like in the A1 length), and a toss-up between the VLTOR and the Magpul for adjustable stocks.
My favorite grip, however, is easy -- the ERGO. It fits me/feels better to me than any other PG for the AR, and I have tried them all* over the years.
* I admittedly haven't yet tried the Stark, but it's very new...
