CRKT M-21 series, no serrations. They're the perfect blend of everything I like in a knife and nothing I don't. And they're priced right for me to use the crap out of 'em and not feel bad about it.

Brian Williams,

that is indeed a Clinch Pick. Great knife, but currently in between production runs. They are sharpened on the back edge only and are designed for SD use as a "point driven" knife.

What knife is in this photo from above. Plus I am not sure I would want to draw a knife from a kydex sheath any where near my "junk" like this one is.
I have drawn the live knife countless times without losing anything important :)

And over the past 5 years or so, I have drawn the trainer version of that whilst grappling (standing and on the ground) with fully resisting opponents and I have never had a problem.

Inexpensive- KA-BAR or Byrd

Middle of the road- Spyderco or Kershaw

Expensive- Chris Reeve

Agree...I've never had any problems drawing from any sheath or holster. It's kind of like when people say "I could never have a holster that points my gun at my junk." Well, drawing seated does the same thing (points it at crotch/leg), and any drawstroke just about will cross your body just a little. If there's a problem with a knife close to the crotch, or a gun close to the crotch, it may be a problem that will occur with the sheath/holster anywhere.

I like Spyderco, but I also have a couple of Benchmade knives that I enjoy, and I am really enjoying this Kershaw Blur I bought several weeks ago.

Still, for all intents and purposes I am a Spyderco man. If I could only choose one company from whom to buy my knives, they would be it without a second thought. There are a few reasons for that, price/quality being a big one, Spyderco being a Colorado company being another. But also, if not mainly, just simple experience. I am fairly new to being a knife enthusiast, but I am not new to carrying and using a knife on a daily basis. In high school and to some extent the Marines, I carried a SAK. Nothing wrong with a good SAK, but once I hit the USMC, I started looking for something little more rugged and, honestly, more salty and awesome looking. I went through a variety of cheap knives, and each one of them let me down. Then I bought a Spyderco, and it never let me down. I have owned one for most of (but not all!) of the years since then, and I have never been anything less than totally satisfied with their performance.

I just ordered a plain blade, sand colored handles Benchmade Griptilian from the Knife Center, if that gives you any indication what I like in addition to my Strider, Emersons and numerous customs and Case knives. :)

I like Kershaw. The Blur for work, Avalanche for off days and the Chive for dress.

(I am finally at a computer where I can view the pictures)

I wouldn't want my gear all along my centerline like that. Too "busy", and probably not as fast as having at least some of that elsewhere.

CRKT M16-13Z or SOG AEGIS for me. I have a few 3" Kershaws and Benchmades for EDC but you were talking about a more tactical (which I'm guessing means self defense) folder.
I love the CRKT and the SOG but both have some issues. The CRKT was bought in a blister pack so I couldn't inspect it first. The blade has a very uneven grind from side to side. It's clearly two different angles. The grip is too smooth also. I like the knife but it's not perfect. Then again it was around $50 or so. The blade deploys very fast and locks up tight with no movement. The handle fills the hand well even if it's a bit slick. The clip is good. The knife sharpens up good and holds an edge ok. The blade will rust if not cared for. The blade is well centered when closed. This isn't my best knife but for some reason it's still my favorite.
The SOG Aegis has a good blade, fast deployment, nice grippy handle with a good shape. The blade has a bit of wiggle but nothing too bad. Great pocket clip for deep carry and it's a very lightweight knife.
Anyway, these are what I use for a tactical folder. I have a Cold Steel Recon Tanto (great knife BTW) but it's just too big for my daily carry most of the time.

but only because I can't afford the Harkins Triton

I just recently bought a SOG Spec Elite I with some Christmas cash and a gift card that I received for Bass Pro Shops. It was $79 in thier store, got home and looked to see what MidwayUSA sells it for $98 then factor in shipping and tax on top of that:what:!

I'm happy with it has a nice tight lock up and the blade retracts fast and smooth.:D
