After S1805 I'm in one heck of a hyper mood. I'm horridly sad that the original bill didn't pass, and I'm horribly pissed off that so much crap was tossed onto it. I'm also horribly pissed that my own Senators voted for the crap ammendments.

So, looking for inspiration I tossed on some old music while I ranted away on my blog. Thought I'd ask what other people here liked for RKBA themed music.

Personally "Down Rodeo" by Rage Against The Machine fits me perfectly.

I do this hestitantly, so if any moderators deem such a link unacceptable here's the song:

http://www.bunchofdrunks.com/music/...ire/Rage Against the Machine - Down Rodeo.mp3

The domain is mine -- it's served off my computer. If the link is deemed illegal and inapproriate for THR I won't hold it against the moderators.

"The Defense" by Bad Religion. I can't say much for there other songs, but this one really stands out...one of the lines is "Yeah I'd like to watch a thousand cable channels but there's nothing on...and my high speed connection's monitored daily by the Pentagon..."

Hummm... I've probably heard 'Down Rodeo' hundreds of times but upon looking up the lyrics and listening harder I find the line which I thought was:

"Rollin' down Rodeo with a shotgun, these people ain't seen a brown stick, man, since thier grand parents bought one"

is really:

"Rollin' donw Rodeo with a shotgun, these people ain't seen a brown skin man since their grand parents bought one.".

Sorta changes my perception.. but then again, not a whole lot.

"Drawing Blood" by Stuck Mojo (from the CD 'Declaration of a Headhunter') might fit the bill:

5. Drawing Blood

Slit the wrist, the devil's kiss evil days it slips

I loathe them and hate them for
Their sickly toxic presence
For the country I love they
Show no god damn reverence
No character, no pride
A man without a sense of dignity
Collectivist mindset, a danger to our liberty

I feel the need to kill the seed
To bleed the breed of this disease

Happiness and ignorance as long
As he can pay the rent
Until the day that freedom's gone
Utopian society, a welfare state for you and me
Until the day that freedom's gone

I smell it, I taste it
It runs through my blood, I'm free
I see the fear in your eyes
I'm not afraid to bleed
Survivalist of the apocalypse
Fingertips my freedom grip

There are a bunch of good (if you like angry music) songs on the CD. From another one:
...Gun owner and I carry
Carjack proof so punks be wary...
and
...A gun cannot be responsible for
a death, just as a shovel cannot be responsible for digging a ditch.
Both are only tools, that have no will of their own.
Responsibility is an adjunct through conscious choice and is the price
we pay for freedom...

Not strictly RKBA, but great music for taking a victory lap:

"Under Pressure" - David Bowie & Queen
"O Fortuna" - Carmina Burana (Actually tracks 21-End of CD :) )
"1812 Overture"

Stuck Mojo rocked. I picked up Declaration of Headhunter when it came out in 2000 and never really heard anything about them afterwards. Since you brought it up, I googled the band and now I know why. It seems they broke up the same year. It looks like they put out a total of six albums, though. Maybe a time to pick up a couple.

Mike & The Mechanics Silent Running

There's a gun and amnunition just inside the doorway;
Use it only in emergency.
Better you should pray to God
the father and the spirit.
Will guide you and protect you from up here.
Can you hear me
can you hear me running? . . .

" Why Are You Marching Now Son" by John Wayne. What can I say I'm old

"Pep Song"

"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" - Warren Zevon

"I shot a man in Reno...just to see him die." - Johnny Cash(Very politically-incorrect, but a great line). From "Live: from Folsom Prison"

P.S. I'm a Yankee(to Southerners)and I LOVE Lynyrd Skynyrd!

Gun song I HATE: "Bang, Bang: he shot me down." - Cher:barf:

I just heard a song by Nickelback called Never Again While not expressly pro-RKBA you have to respect a song that encourages armed self defense :)

He's drunk again, it's time to fight
Same old s**t, just on a different night
She grabs the gun, she's had enough
Tonight she'll find out how f****ng
Tough is this man
Pulls the trigger just as fast as she can
Never Again

Then theres an Irish folk song I've always liked My Little Armalite http://ingeb.org/songs/iwasstop.html

"Rise Above" by Black Flag...

Jealous cowards surround us all!
(Rise above, we're gonna rise above!)
They distort what we say!
(Rise above, we're gonna rise above!)
Try and stop what we do!
(Rise above, we're gonna rise above!)
When they can't do it themselves!
(Rise above, we're gonna rise above!)
We
are tired
of your
abuse!

Try and stop us,
it's
no use!

My favorite punk anthem of all time. And I think it's theraputic when surrounded by the Forces of Ignorance. All y'all who are getting discouraged, crack open a cold one or two, set the stereo on "Kill," and blast it out!!
 :cuss:

Then apologize to your neighbors. :neener:

I don't know about Pro-RKBA

While it doesn't mention guns, 'Whisky for my Men, Beer for my Horses' by Toby Keith and Willie Nelson is a song that puts me in a good mood.

well a man come on 6 o'clock news says somebody's been shot,
somebody's been abused
somebody blew up a building
somebody stole a car
somebody got away
somebody didn't get too far (yeah)
they didn't get too far

Grandpapy told my Papy
back in my day son a man had to answer
for the wicked thing he done
Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall Oak tree
Round up all of them bad boys
Hang'm high in the tree
For all the people to see.

(Chorus)
Cause justice is the one thing that
you should always find
you got to sattle up your boys
you gotta draw a hard line
when the gun smoke settles
we'll sing a victory tune
and we'll all meet back at the local salloon
We'll raise up our glasses against evil forces
singing whiskey for my men, beer for my horses

We've got too many gangsters
doin dirty deeds
too much corruption and crime in the streets
It's time the long arm of the law put a few more in the ground
send them all to their maker and he'll settle'm down
You can bet he'll settle'm down

The first few times I heard this song, I must have had a gleam in my eye, because my wife was saying: No, you can't go out and do that!

Dig that Toby Keith!

"Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner" - Warren Zevon

2 more by Zevon: "Jeanne Needs a Shooter" and "Bo Diddley's a Gunslinger." off the one and only Warren Zevon album I own.

Another vote for Metallica "Don't Tread On Me"

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
Once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
Never begins it, never, but once engaged...
Never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

Don't tread on me

So be it
Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it
Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

Don't tread on me

Love it or live it, she with the deadly bite
Quick is the blue tongue, forked as lighting strike
Shining with brightness, always on surveillance
The eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

Don't tread on me

So be it
Threaten no more
To secure peace is to prepare for war
So be it
Settle the score
Touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

Don't tread on me

Ill second Black Flag "Rise Above". If you want something to pump you up, that is some hardcore stuff with a message.
