It depends on what the others are charging. Carters Country wants $50 for a transfer. Shooters Shop sounds good in comparison!

My guy in Montgomery Al. does it for $20 even. He started wanting $35, but we came to an understanding at $20. :)

Ffl Deler- San Antonio Tx

I Got One Here That Only Charges 15.00, + He Is A Friend Who Goes Outta His Way To Help Whenever Possible---- Hunter's Hq, Great Guy To Do Busuiness With!

THR member waterhouse here in Austin does em for $5. Although I'm not sure if that's still the case...I'll have to ask him next time I need a transfer. :)

Bringing it back...

My FFL holder let her license expire - she got jammed up with IKE's aftermath. She's seriously thinking about not renewing it, anyway, as it was a pretty good chunk of money & hassle for the little she used it...

So...any other FFL holders in Houston area (preferably east Harris county) who do transfers for "reasonable" (IMHO <$25) rates?

i believe it's $6. i have something on its way to him right now. best deal you're going to find around here by a longshot.

Frederick Counrt Firearms (FCF)
Winchester, VA
NFA Transfers - $25
Title 1 Transfers - $25

Blye's Jewelers (Omega Arms)
Winchester, VA
Title 1 Transfers - $10
Also does NFA transfers at a considerable higher cost

I have one in sugar land Tx for $20 per and one in NW houston for $10 per.

It is NOT required to collect sales tax on a firearm transfer. If your FFL in Texas is charging sales tax, he's making tip $$ on ya...

J. Erwin out of Winterville, GA - you can find him on Gunbroker.com for more details. He runs a great little shop behind his home. He's got a wonderful supply of powders and reloading supplies. Transfers are $10 which beats the hell out of the "major" competition in the area who charges $40 per transfer.

A Archdale Arms & Ammo Archdale NC $25.00 straight fee Gunrack Kernersville NC $25.00 straight fee J&M Pawn Kernersville NC $20.00 straight fee Fairfield Pawn $20.00 plus tax and someother kind of fee Archdale NC. (not doing business with that one)

Are you sure?

I know I do not charge sales tax on the firearm, but I believe I'm required to collect tax on the transfer fee itself.

If you're in Jacksonville, FL and you're tired of waiting in line at Shooter$, I've found Lanny at Lanny's Jewelry (in Avondale) to be knowledgeable, personable, and always ready to help with a transfer. Rarely busy, and you can chat with his pet bird while he signs the paperwork.

Second Amendment Armory here in brandon Florida. $45, but that's still the cheapest in twenty miles without dealing with the Charlie Foxtrot that is the Tampa road layout.

Plus, he's knowledgeable (more than I, at least), glad to help, and the first to congratulate you on a good grab from online. Transfers are the biggest part of his business right now, so for the convenience and his help, I'll accept it.

That's the only place around here I've found doesn't try to give you the runaround or force you into buying their stuff.

Some counter jockey at Patriot Arms here quoted me $60+5%, then glared at me when I laughed and headed for the door! :barf:

Just wish i could find any place around here that stocks reloading stuff.
