I am opening another Group Buy, but it will be slightly different from the first one as I had to eat a lot of options that will still be available but at extra cost.

First3_done.jpg

The price: $225 for a Fighter and sheath
The sheath: Black Kydex with Tek-Lok
The steel: 154CM
Handles: Brown Micarta, sandblasted
Shipping: $10

If you order this set-up it's $235 shipped. If you want green/black micarta (or any other micarta) it's $15 more.

If you want a leather sheath it's $20 more and a looooong wait. Kydex takes 2 weeks max and I got one back in 4 days.

If you want a Camo Kydex sheath it's $10 more. If you want MOLLE-Loks on it it's $10 more or $20 for both.

So green/black handles with Camo Kydex and MOLLE-loks will be $35 extra - I just can't afford to give these away anymore. That said this will be the last Fighter Group buy at this price, probably, as I have to go to precision ground steel next time and it'll probably cost more. It's killing my shoulder trying to "clean up" the sides of this steel and really slowing things down.

If you want to order a knife, give me the following info:

Name and address, phone # a plus.
What handles, sheath and belt attachment you want.
If you want the top edge sharpened. It is up to you to know the laws where you live and if it's legal to own a double-edged knife.

Send me this by PM and I'll make a knife and let you know when it goes for a sheath. Payment will be asked for at that time. :)

Lets roll. :D

Well, scratch the leather option as my sheathmaker just quit on me. Something about how he's had knives of mine just sitting since 7/7 but when I asked for one completed one for a photo shoot he said I "rushed him". OMG I hope I never turn into a prima donna like that!

Would a version without the finger grooves be less or more? Just curious.

John

D'oh. I hope you figure out what to do about the leather sheaths, I'm hoping to have my knife before too much longer. :)

Measurements:

6" blade, 12" overall.

John, I could do that. no change in price but I think they help get a good grip.

After kicking myself for not getting in on these before, I'm striking while the iron is hot!

PM inbound with info.

Don,

The problem with finger grooves is that the placement of your fingers may not be the same as John's and his may not be the same as my little raccoon paws. I prefer a single finger choil with a slight palm swell for a general purpose, one-size-fits-all grip.

Who's going to do your kydex?

I was kind of wondering about that before I ended up getting it.

So just to let you know, he does a really good job of making a one size fits all knife handle.

My wife (who has MUCH smaller hands than I do, she's 5'5 and I'm 6'4 if that gives you any indication of how our hand size differs) also said that she felt that it was pretty comfortable. The end of the knife grip stuck out farther when she was holding it than it did with me, but other than that it was about the same.

I'd be willing to bet that Don's hand size is somewhere in the middle and that he just used his hands for the template. If so, it worked out well for me. However some people just don't like finger grooves at all. If so, that's a different story.

I have a great kydex maker but lost my leather guy. However a new guy might be stepping up soon. The old guy has all my knives though and is holding them hostage until I pay the measly $120 for what he did do.

As for hand size I have pretty big hands and have had to realize that not everyone has hands that big. The grooves should help no matter the size of your hand though.

I now have some 440C fighters heat treated and ready to go. If you order one now it'd be 3 weeks MAX wait if you get Kydex with it. :)

My leather guy is back on the job, hopefully working on my Fighters that were bought months ago. I expect 154CM blanks bac from Bos in about a week!
