I've shot a lot of trap guns from 870 TCs to Kreighoffs and Perazzi (the guns all shoot better than I do). It's always a pleasure to pick up a high grade O/U trap gun that has the finish of a Ferrari. But there has always been a need for an inexpensive trap gun for someone who just wants to get started without a bank loan. Here's something I just found for $360.

I'll be at the NRA show next week in St. Lous and will check this out. Anyone one of these? Tom

It looks a little pricey... Then again I'm kinda used to going to a certain gun store near me and seeing 3 dozen single shots for under $100...

My dad has an old H&R that shoots unbelievably well in trap and I think besides the recoil, it's a pretty goo first timer gun.

I have one, and Im perfectly satisfied.
Its easy to shoot, I dont flinch and it didnt cost me more than my house payment.

The thing about SGW, which I like btw, is most folks there are looking for something that isnt a "budget gun" and if it isnt top shelf well it just sucks.
that and those folks probably would not entertain the idea of even owning an H&R anything.

So I take a different look at some of the comments made.

Im pretty sure its not meant for the hardcore clayshooter, but for the weekend warrior I think its a fine shotgun, Ive used mine for everything from clays, doves to pheasant and fur. works good, the recoil pad fits nicely and does its job well!

Good luck!

Guy at the trap range in Montrose NY had one. It was his first, and he thought it would be his last, trap gun. I shot it a couple of times, and after getting used to the hammer popping up into the sight picture upon firing it worked fine. It may not be top end and high dollar but that is the point of it. The gun was actually fun for informal clay shooting.

It would be a little light for me. Different strokes for different folks! If it works for you, then shoot it often and enjoy it. I have 14 shotguns last count. Clay shooting is mostly what I get opportunities for now days. I shoot them all light or heavy. I just shoot the lighter ones less:). I try to shoot all of them at least once per year to have an excuse to clean and enjoy them. I hope you enjoy yours!

A 7lb trap gun? No thanks

Exactly - add a pound or two (evenly to maintain some form of balance), and it could work well for a few hundred or even a few thousand rounds. Having shot similar guns and owning a H&R ss rifle, the triggers leave a LOT to be desired for a target gun
