Finally bought a gun safe

Finally got my safe today. I decided that three long guns and five handguns were just too many to have scattered throughout the house. The first grandchild was just born so that did it. No kids ever in the house (over 55 community) but we have physical therapists and cleaning people in and out.

I picked up the Winchester "24-gun" safe on sale for $599 at Tractor Supply. That was really the price point I could afford and after studying safes for almost a year, I determined it was by far the best I could find for that money. It's not a super-duper bomb proof, pro thief proof safe, but it suits my needs perfectly....and it isn't black, which since its in the bedroom, makes my wife happy.

Congrats on the gunsafe!

I got my first one ~15 years ago. I can still remember how much more comfortable it made me feel whenever I had to leave the house unoccupied for a period of time.

I own two safes and have discovered that safes always shrink after they are set up. I think it must have something to do with the smell of Hoppes. I hope you don't have the same problem.

I probably will but it's in the bedroom and 30" wide is absolutely the biggest I could squeeze in. I'm not a fan of putting a gun safe in the garage so my options are nonexistent.
