What's the point of sending an infantryman to Ft S
S3000002.jpg

Finally finished building my GI 45.
SPECS:

- Wolff springs throughout

- Ambi- safety, extended slide release, flat MSH, beveled mag well and extractor, all from Wilson

- I had a local smith take the slide back to white and put in a dovetail for the front sight. Then I duracoated the slide in black and installed a Trijicon tritium front sight. I didn't want to take a risk with the rear sight dovetail, so I left it stock and installed a Millet MkII rear sight.

- Burner grips

I haven't had the chance to shoot it with the new sights yet, but I'm going to the range this weekend. Questions/Comments welcome.

Lebben-B, Are you one of those Polar Bears? My barracks was by theirs back in the mid 80's. I also wondered why they were on a field artillery base.

Okie,

No, I'm not at Ft Sill yet but will be heading there soon. I'm still bustin' silk at Bragg. As for the Polar Bears, they were moved from Sill several years ago.

Took the pistol and my son to an indoor range yesterday and shot the fire out of it. Ran 200+ rounds of various kinds and weights through it. Shoots great, tho one of my mags went T/U on me. The new sights are the heat! I kinda guessed on them, but the Millett rears are excellent! I highly recommend them if you run a .200" front sight. On my pistol, they shoot dead-on POA out to 25m.
