My house...wait, this isn't my house! What the...
So, I started a part-for-part AR build last year, September to be exact, and was sooo close to the finish line before Newtown. Of course, the only thing I hadn't purchased before then was the bolt carrier group. Nothing like having a 99% build laughing in your face... Last week, with help from fellow THR member M&P Maniac, the final piece of the puzzle was put into place.

I took it out for the inaugural run yesterday, and much to my delight, it ran slick as snot and without a single hiccup or issue. Satisfied with function, I got it sufficiently sighted in at 50. Quite pleased with my handiwork, I am relieved the wait is over. Now all that remains is to qualify with it and throw it in the trunk for duty as my patrol rifle. Is it bad that I'm already itching for a new build project? :D

I just finished mine days after the tragedy in CT. I had started it back in April of last year and just shot it for the first time last weekend with no issues whatsoever. however, I zeroed mine for the 300M battle sights with a M16A2 25m target. but it makes you feel good when it runs smooth. I'm thinking of an AK74 build next, or another AR build, but a carbine for my wife.

It's one of those itches that never go away no matter how often you scratch it. (LOL)

Jim

Congrats, by the way.
