i wanted to go with thw tan theme with my ar, but i didn't want to paint the whole gun so using tan camo paint that you can get at wal mart i hit up the rail, pistol grip, buttstock, and the hood on the eotech. the ar has been to the range twice since the painting occured so there is some chippage but not that much, which i expected anyway.

Looks good. I painted the old A2 pistol grip for mine OD yesterday. If it looks good by the time I get off work and doesn't chip off I will do the rest of the furniture.

There is a product that is called Bull Dog. It's a spray product with a flex agent in it designed to help paint stick to plastics. I've used it quite a bit on plastic pieces when dressing up the under hood areas of cars. It's a pretty harsh environment if the car is a driver and this product makes a huge difference in keeping the paint on plastics. I've never used it on guns but I think it would offer the same benefits.

I wouldn't be too happy if I went to the trouble of painting a gun and after a couple of trips to the range the paint was wearing.

I've picked this up at a number of automotive related stores but this is the product.
