Shot my first "official" trap shoot on Saturday, and it was fun! I did decent, but definitely have room to improve. Hit 78 the first round from the 16 yard line, then dropped to 67 from handicapped (20 yards I believe). Had a couple of personal bests as well. I had a couple rounds where I hit 21/25, had never gotten to 20 prior. Also had a round or two where I hit 10 straight (including 5 in a row from the far ends). Know it doesn't sound like a lot, but that's a huge improvement. Still gotta work on getting my leads right and swinging through the target, but I'm definitely getting there.
I used my month old 930 All Purpose Field with 26" barrel, it beats the heck out of the 590A1 I had haha.
I definitely feel like that shooting trap/skeet does two things: it points out your flaws really fast, and it also makes you a better shooter.
Anyway, can't wait to do it some more!

I was out of it for a long time (last registered round I shot was in '85), but since I started training the kids in 4-H, I've gotten back the itch. Looked at a Sporting Clays Citori at a good price today, but I really want a BT-99. I'll use my 870 Tactical Mag (with a 28" barrel) until I can come up with the scratch for that one.
Except maybe doing it from 22 yards.
