When I got one of those case prep centers for my birthday it was like wow!
The are great BUT , the chamfer & deburring tool didn't last 2 weeks before they were dull.
Yes they can be sharpened but it doesn't last long then the replacement parts are way
to high for the number they can do.
My son is a trained welder & expert in small stuff like this ,so there you are.
So I got my son to cut a hand type deburr chamfer tool in half, cut the top off the original tools,
weld the hand tool half onto the matching half from the prep center & ,,,done. Just make sure
they are aligned properly & weld ground off smooth.
That was , guessing , 4 or 5 years ago & just this past week I sharpened them for the first time.
He made 2 sets that day & the other set is still unused.
Now I go thru thousands of cases every year so that is a testament to the prep centers
stamina & the FIX , I couldn't do without it.
Notice I never mention mfg unless I have to. The rig is good but a fix makes it better.
