This may have been covered in pieces elsewhere, but...

I am interested in buying the least expensive but quality optical sight that is night-vision adaptable. This would go onto a Scout Length(ened) AR Flatop Rail that has a BUIS.

I would like the basic scope to offer low and some higher magnification, without or with/and without batteries.

The scope needs to be useable separately from the night vision component that should also be useable stand-alone (i.e. a monocular).

Preferably they are specifically designed to work optimally together.

Thoughts and/or recommendations?

What is the role of the rifle? At short range and for general patrolling I prefer a night vision monocular on my left eye and red dot sight on the rifle. That way I can scan everywhere w/out holding the rifle up to my eye (quickly fatiguing, poor situational awareness...and you're sweeping everything).

To shoot, you use both eyes open and your naked eyes sees the dot. Even better is an IR laser, but those are expensive and hard for civilians to get.

An option other than mounting behind a scope (which presents real challenges for anything other than a red dot sight), is to get a day sight and night scope both in Larue mounts. Quickly detach one for the other, they will maintain zero.

For specifics, TNVC is definitely who to contact. I just have experience with military issue gear.
