AWESOME!
that said i only got 20 minutes to shoot as i forgot that ranges close early in the winter.
i lubed the rifle up as much as I could without actually disassembling it. apparently the guy sold it to me with gas set in grenade launch mode so every shot fired was in bolt-action mode (gas tube was shut off, so no cycling).
but the gun is accurate, perfectly acceptable in recoil, and tons of fun to shoot.
this saturday i'm going to get there really early with 300 rounds of yugo corrosive, an otis field kit, a small bottle of windex, and some rags.
rifle: 8mm egyptian fn 49. wolf gold 8mm mauser.
position: standing, kneeling.
accuracy: hit playing card at 100 yards. meant to hit the one 2" next to it. blew up a 1 gallon jug of water. smacked the 6" pie plate around at 75 yards.
recoil: about the same as 308
fun factor: 10/10.
anybody out there with an fn49 egyptian, give me advice! Kor has given me tons and I will be taking it apart tonight.
