I was at Cabela's today and they've got these for about 269$. Is this a reasonable price? Is this a reasonable firearm? I thought I read some good stuff about these awhile back, but wasn't sure. Any info would be appreciated. The search function won't let me search on FN.

The picture looks like an FN High Power Compact, but i could be totally wrong. The latest CDNN catalog had them for 299.99 (DAO) and 339.99 (S/DA), so that sounds like a great price if thats what it is. The catolog can be dled at www.cdnninvestments.com

This is what I thought you were talking about.

Ant Mod - They have one like that too. About the same price.

So are these guns any good? Any feedback on their reliability or performance?

its a very nice gun. the one thing that was a big hangup on this model is the HEAVY trigger pull, like 10lbs. its a great shooter though. if your looking for a gun in the same price range go for the Steyr m-9,40. you cant beat these guns for the price. Oh i love the CZ-40 too.

I have an HP-DA compact (http://www.fnhusa.com/contents/hg_hpda_compact.htm). I'm very happy with it.

The trigger is not great, but far from poor. The DA pull is a bit heavy and then stacks when it reaches the firing pin safety. Still, it's better than the trigger on the RAP, which noone complains about. I think the trigger gets so much abuse on the HP-DA, because you handle the gun, and you think "Damn, but this is about the nicest gun I've ever held", and then you pull the trigger, and think "***."

It's my primary carry, and I plan on buying another in the future. The thing is a tack driver. They come in DA/SA and DAO varieties, I would never buy a DAO model. If you're considering buying it, bring some snap-caps to the store and see if you can live with the trigger pull.

I guess I don't know why, but I was afraid to buy one because the prices were so low. I mean, $269 for a pistol usually indicates a piece of crap. But if you guys say so, I might pick one up.
