i'm looking for a double stack .45acp handgun and i need all the info i can get. please recommend one.

BTW i'm looking at FN HERSTAL FNP.45 are they any good?

I thought about an FNP .45 but I passed in favor of the SA XDm .45. 3 interchangeable backstraps and a match grade barrel. Mine is very accurate and fits my hand like a glove. They are about the same price.;)

+1 I had a FNP 45 and sold it for an XDm 45. the FN is made very well but it's a real handfull and new shooters I had on the range experenced limpristing induced jams with the FN.

I have a FNP 45. It is big, fat , ugly, and hard to conceal. I love it!!!! The gun just works for me. I find it to be soft shooting and much more accurate than I am. With 500+ rounds through it I have never had any problems. If you can find a range that has one to rent try it out. I think you will like it.

Rock Island also makes a double stack 1911 (A2 I believe). It's a decent shooter. Hard to find mags though. There's also its cousin the Para14.

I would also add the CZ97B. Excellent gun.

FNP 45---I had one. Soft shooting. Controls just like HK variant 1. If you like DA/SA, with decocker/safety that can be cocked & locked, you might like it. I got rid of it because it was too big for me.

I have one...love it. is more accurate than I am. not selective on ammo.

Anyone who says it's too big or traded it because it's too big should delete their post...what do you expect on a 17rd double stack .45acp? seriously.....

does the fnp 45 is selective on ammo? this is going to be a range/HD and not a CCW, maybe something i take alone while hunting. anothing thing i have in mind in the G21-sf

thanks for all the support, i bought Glock 21fs 3 mags and extended slide release.
