Carbine and rifle versions were made.
The problem was the magazines, nothing could be made to reliably function past 10 round capacity and the five rounders worked best.

Now that C Products makes an awesome new 30 round 7.62x39 AR mag, maybe Colt will begin producing them again.

Colt did, Olyimpic does, and I think DPMS offers 7.63x39 bbls and bolts as well.
