Still too much

He should have been granted an ACD,and that would be the end of it.

Too bad Bloombutt is the mayor and anti - gun as hell.

After all,Bloombutt has TONS of armed guards so he can afford to be anti - gun, lol.

Bet he even has a CCW in NYC,a thing only the Lord can get --- on a good day.

Considering the potential extremes... I'm happy for him and hope there're no lingering consequences regarding the misdemeanor.

While I understand he took the deal, that's too bad. Was hoping this would somehow end up in the Supreme Court and get the NYC ban lifted.

You've Got It Backwards

The City of New York almost NEVER enforces its "mandatory" gun laws -- that was one of the challenges that the Marine was taking to court when he first refused their "deal." It was effectively the same as minority drug dealing murderers were getting there!

bushmaster, sadly most gun charges get pled down first, sometimes plea bargained away completely, from what little I know of the justice system.

In Don B. Kates Restricting Handguns: Liberal Skeptics Speak Out 1979, it was pointed out that gun judges in the Chicago gun court often found ways to dismiss charges against citizens with no criminal record caught carrying guns out of fear of crime, simply because permits were impossible to get and most arrests involved blatant violations of 4th Amendment search and siezure.

The cases that have hit the news recently in NYC were tourists (the nurse and ex-marine) with valid out-of-state carry permits who complied with "no gun signs" by offering to check their arms. And were treated harsher than some violent felons ger treated.

BTW, Tennessee recognizes all valid out-of-state carry permits, whether the originating state reciprocates and recognizes a Tennessee carry permit.
