I've been patiently awaiting the Kel-Tec PF-9 and have been comparing alternatives in the mean-time. After much research I have decided on the Kahr P9. They are nearly the same dimension and although the Kahr cost about twice as much as the Kel-Tec, they are quality firearms. Having owned a K9 in the past I have come to the conclusion that the Kahr P9 would be the way to go. It will compliment my G21 and G23 nicely.

I know several people using the poly & steel sub Kahr for daily carry and are totally sold on their quality / reliability & shootability. I think you done good :D

I have a Kahr P9 and absolutely love it. This is the first Kahr that I have owned, and I am really impressed. It is so lightweight I forget that I am carrying it. Mine has been 100% reliable and is surprisingly accurate. Youv'e made a good choice :)

What holsters do you use? I'm considering either the Mitch Rosen or Don Hume IWB holsters listed on the Kahr website. The Mitch Rosen is more than double the cost of the Don Hume, is there a reason for this? Or are there better options for this pistol in IWB holsters?

I love my PM9 in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.

My P45 also fits in the same holster and in most pockets too, although not as handily...

Didn't like the balance of the Poly Kahrs. I went with the MK9. Much heavier but I always know it's on me.

I’ve heard predominantly good things about the P model Kahrs. There are several peeps on the Kahr Club at GlockTalk who seem to think that the PM model Kahrs are works of the devil, however. But there are vocal people who think KT = POS and my p-3at is a dream.

Still, it was the feel of the MK-9 that made me get it over any of the polys.

I’m holding out another year or so for a Hard Chrome KT PF-9.

I have had my new Kahr P9 for about 3 weeks now and it performed great at the range. I fired 200 rounds as suggested by the owner's manual and there were a couple times where the slide did not go fully into battery. But this happened while my 12-year-old daughter was shooting it and think it was due to the slighter grip she held on it.
It functioned flawlessly for me. I also ordered the Don Hume IWB holster that is advertised on the Kahr website and and happy with it also. All in all I am satisfied and fits nicely into my polymer/striker fired handgun stable.

I won't say it's "the" carry gun, but I put a down payment on a used PM9 w/night sights yesterday. It should fit my pocket auto niche very well, a nice addition to the CCW toolbox.

Tex
