I have a pre-warning Ruger BH and the front sight is bent to the right when viewed from behind. I am out of adjustmant on the rear for windage and just need a little tweak to the front sight to get back in the game. The front sight appears to have been bent by a previous owner. Do ya think it will it withstand a little bend if I clamped it down and applied a little pressure? Also, there is a little holster wear on the top surface of the sight from ramp to top, would a little cold blue help with the glare.I'd rather home remedy this as opposed to paying to send it back to Ruger. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

You probably could bend it back, but if it breaks your up the creek. A gunsmith might be able to mill off the old sight cut a slot in the base and pin a new sight in place. I believe MagNaPort specializes in this type of work and its not very expensive.

Which direction is your rear sight maxed out to? The bent sight might not be accidental; bending is sometimes done to correct windage problems. It's usually done on fixed sight guns, but I wonder if there is problem since your rear sight is fully adjusted one way (to the left would be a problem in your case).

Cold blue should help some with glare. If the surface is too smooth it may still produce glare. I've found you can hold a piece of coarse sandpaper just above the metal and tap the paper into the surface with a hammer handle (or something similar) to do a sort of manual sand blasting;then apply your blue.

Regards,
Greg
