I only went to shoot two pistols I bought within the past 3 months and haven't fired yet, an XDS, and a Shield 40. I liked the XDS, more, although the Shield is easier to carry.
I now understand the mag issue spoken about on the shield. It appears to me the placement of the mag release is the cause of at least some of these reports.I dropped the extended one twice, until I realized because of the additional length that your finger can easily travel over the mag release.
Shot a nice Kimber raptor with less than a 3lb trigger, sweet internally suppresed. The XDS had no more recoil than my 30 glock or any 40 I have.
For close range, 25 feet it's dead on. The shield takes more getting used to, don't like the sights, trigger is ok. Neither one thrilled me, but they serve a purpose, perhaps a laser is a good idea with the 40.It's a bit snappy after the first round harder to get back on target than the 45, a laser would help IMO
if you like to carry a 45 you may want to look at the XDS
