Fundraising for Shooters

I'm trying to raise some money for a Christmas party, and the local area has a TON of shooters, and a pretty nice range....SO I was wondering if anyone had some good ideas on how to marry the two.

awhile back i heard of a fundraiser where the sponsors had the shooters pay a certain amount for a shot at various sticks of dynamite throughout a ridge line at different distances. if we could figure something out with simpler legal implications, i'd appreciate it!

If you have any machine gun guys in your area you could have a charity shoot. The machine gun guys get expenses, and everything else goes to the charity.

A bit of unasked for advice though. Since you didn't specify why you're raising the money. In my experience it depends on how popular your charity is in your area. I've dona a few fund raisers mostly in conjunction with my dance activities. I've found that if I'm I was raising money for a popular local charity the money is much easier to raise so you might try to make if for several charities one of which is very popular and stress that in your advertising etc. For instance here in the Peeples Republic of Austin if I were to try to raise money to combat Obama's health care we'd starve, couple that with the local food bank or blue Santa program, and I'd probably be able to swim in the cash. In Galveston the 'Family Crisis Center' (read battered woman's home) raised a ton of money with us and our dance group got a ton of exposure in the community. Not sure it'd have been the same with other groups.

I usually try to get a silent auction or raffle coupled with my events so that there is more money, and smaller businesses can participate via auction items.
