I can confirm that the lawsuit brought forth by Bearden is a section 1983 suit.

This is from the introduction of the complaint.

This action, under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, seeks a declaratory judgment that the
threatened detention, search, arrest and prosecution by Defendants of people
carrying firearms within the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
(“Airport”) violates the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution of the United
States, the Militia Clause of the Constitution of the United States, the Second
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, and the Fourteenth
Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, together with an
appropriate injunction. Plaintiffs bring related state law claims that form the
same controversy.

That should put the kabosh on the plans of Franklin/DeCosta to deny Georgians of their 2A rights.

There's a poll on that website as well. Make sure to hit it. We are winning but only by the slimmest of margins.

The City and Hartsfield are going to go down in flames.
Kudos to Bearden. One chip at a time to get back to sanity.

Aside from it being perfectly legal, I shouldn't have to go about unarmed every time I drive to the airport to pick up my spouse or another family member.

I wouldn't want to be National Guard caught in some of the neighborhoods that I have to drive through to get there.

You want to know the irony of it all? As Mayor Franklin and her cronies are announcing to all of Georgia that it intends to trample the rights of citizens who sent their legislators to the gold dome in support of HB89, armed security was everywhere. Behind plants. In elevated positions. In suits, in uniform, in tactical wear. There she was declaring the airport a "Gun Free Zone," but her armed security were on the look-out, on the job, some guns concealed while others openly carried. Why is it that guns are "inappropriate" for me to have at the Airport to protect me and mine but very much needed by the Mayor's security detail to protect her?

Because she's a Stalinist and you're just another meaningless subject of the state who has no rights.
In Shirley's eyes.

i am going to continue to open carry for the rest of the summer. trying to hide a shoulder holster is hard when its 90 degrees out. i hope i can at least have some good/interesting conversation with some people... maybe even make a few liberals mad.

i dont go to the airport very often, unless i am flying. but if i drive by or pick someone up, i will definitely carry my gun with me.
