General opinion of CZ rifles

I love the CZ rifles, I own five, a 527 American in .221 Fireball, 527 american & varmint in .204, and 527 american & varmint in .223. All of them are excellent shooters.

It's hard to pick a favorite, but if I have to I'll say the .221 Fireball just because it is a little different, a great shooter, and has the nicest wood of the bunch. Yes, I do reload for all my rifles.

I'm a Fireball fan too. Mine is not a CZ but a Rem 700 LVSF with a Boyd's Laminate stock. I get outstanding results with RE#7 and Lil'Gun.

My CZ is a 550 Full Stock in 243 Winchester. A real shooter too.

I love my 452 Special/Trainer. I just ordered some rings for it so I can throw some glass on it, see how accurate it really is. I'm not sure if CDNN still has some of the Americans left, but I'm thinking about picking one up if they do.

I'm really wanting a Tikka in 6.5 Swede, but would have to wait for them to come into the country again. I assume you guys would say the CZ is at least as good, but what about the weight?? Some of the reason I went with that caliber was low recoil in a light weight rifle, not sure if the CZ meets that part.................

litman252;

I'm also wanting a 6.5 Swede - bad. However, my problem is not finding the caliber so much as finding the gun available in the caliber, with a left handed action.

I've written both CZ & Beretta/Tikka asking about any forthcoming availability. CZ has had the decency to reply, so far Beretta hasn't. CZ told me that they'd like to import the 550 with LHB's, but are waiting to see what the acceptance level is on the recently introduced LHB 527's. I've done my part & own a new 527 LHB in .223 & an older 452 LHB .22lr.

I'm hopin' lots of other lefties feel about CZ's the way I do & are spending their money on those fine firearms, 'cause as I said: I'm wantin' one bad.

CB,
I've been searching the Rifle and caliber for the last week and prob. have read every post that your have wrote/ read on the 2.

I just wish the CZ was in synthetic, or a pound and a half lighter................

Tony

the 527 models are about the lightest centerfires out there, but the 550's I have no idea... i would assume they would be no heavier than 8 lbs empty though. i have seen them with synth stocks, but only in magazines.

there site does say the new 17 remington round, but it does not say fireball. someone should call or email them if it is fireball...

I was recently in the market for a good .22 rifle. I browsed various online forums, and CZ consistently got rave reviews. That piqued my interest so I checked out a 452 Trainer model. As soon as I picked it up I knew I had to have it, so last Saturday I bought it. I think that's a pretty good endorsement, considering that this is my first rifle and I thought long and hard before I made my decision.
