Thinking about going to Houston for the NRA National Annual Meeting. Does anyone know if the Convention Center is posted 30.06? It probably is- but isn't that a bit ironic?

I don't believe so. They regularly hold gun shows there, but then again you can CC at a gun show. You may not be able to CC at the convention either, not sure what their rules will be like at the Expo.

EDIT: Wow, I re-read this and I totally butchered what I intended to say. Probably past my bed time. I don't think the convention center is posted. They do hold gun shows there regularly, but you can't CC at the show.

It is posted for the regular gun shows (High Caliber), but the signs seem temporary and as such likely to be only for the show itself, which makes sense.

I couldn't tell you more than that, unfortunately - I don't go anywhere near downtown unless to a gun show.

High Caliber post the signs themselves. They claim that their contract states the building is under their control so the provisions against posting of public facilities do not apply. So far no one has successfully challenged them on it.

They used to post a generic red circle/slash gun sign. AKA NO GUNS ALLOWED. Seemed a foolish sign to post at a gun show. Or was that the "Real Gunshow' gang?

Thanks for the link, Almostfree.

Texas generally prohibits the open carrying of firearms. During the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits, conceal carry firearms are permitted in the George R. Brown Convention Center and the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel. When carrying your firearm, remember to follow all federal, state and local laws.
