As far as I can tell there are no restrictions for a person who has no prior felonies and is of age 21 or older to open carry in Georgia. Since a CCL is just that, concealed carry, I'm wondering if there are any restrictions on open carrying without a CCL. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for your help.

Legally, you have to have the CCL to open carry in GA, though I have heard many people thought it was entirely legal unlicensed.

check www.opencarry.org for more details.

P.S. Someone will be along shortly to decry open carry, ignore them.

From what I understand, you must possess a Georgia Firearms License to open carry. Check with opencarry.org for the other regs as well.

A long time ago, that was true. Nowadays, you have to have a Georgia Firearms License to carry in public.

The GFL is not a "concealed" permit, it is simply a license to carry, concealed or otherwise.
