There is something very comfortable, and comforting, for me, about carrying revolvers. Ruger GP100, SP101, Speed Six, SRH Alaskan, & S&W 19-5; depending upon environment. (I also have a J-Snub, but mostly just for extreme hide-out and back-up purposes.) I shoot medium and medium/large revolvers better than anything, and did stop a fight with one well-placed round, in 1993. I can shoot a 1911 about as well, but only if I have trained much, and often; my DA revolver skills are much less-perishable. This means more confidence, if my last range session was not so recent.
The Milt Sparks PMK is, for me, a very, very comfortable holster. I have them for the SP101, and K-Frame. My newest revolver holster is a JM Custom Kydex George, an AIWB rig, made for my SP101.
While working big-city police patrol, on night shift, yes, my 9mm Glocks make plenty of sense, mostly because of the limited amount of real estate on my increasingly-overloaded duty belt, and the tight interior of the Ford Explorer-based patrol vehicles. I do often carry these same Glocks during personal time, because opening the big safe daily is a chore. When I retire, it may be the Glocks spending more time in the safe.
