I finally see some Universal. Hurray:D
I was going to order it some more WSF and was considering trying a pound of Ramshot ZIP since I will be paying the hazmat fee.

Just curious how those of you who have used ZIP like it.
It would most likely be used in 9mm and .45 ACP, possible light .357.

I wish I could find some to try:( I haven't seen W-231/HP-38 in these parts in a long time, I suspect these powders are close enough for your intended use. I would guess Zip would be a go choice for 380 acp as well.
I look forward to hearing your opinion on this powder.

It not only looks much like W-231, it performs much like it. Good stuff.

I've been curious about Zip as well. Hey Walkalong, caliber and load on that target? I'm. Sitting on my last 2 pounds of 231, but saw that Zip was available at my local reloading supply store. Love W231 in .45 acp for lswc.

I can't comment on Zip but I really like True Blue for my .357magnum using lead bullets. Meters like water through my RCBS Uniflow.

.45 ACP, 230 Gr Berrys, 7 yard target through chrono at 5. For some reason I never logged the load, but it was a light load of Zip. Note the Avg velocity.

A nephew of mine really likes Zip in 40 S&W with the Hornady 180 gr. HAP bullets. He shoots them out of a full size M&P40.

Dudedog, I really like it for the G42, especially the heavy-for-caliber Gold Dot 115gr load.
Works great in my Wharf Rat :D

Thanks for the replies, I went ahead and ordered a lb to try.:)
Ordered from Widners, now I see Midsouth has Universal as well.
Midsouth also had AA#2 and AA#5 if anybody is looking for those.

somebody's gotta say it "Zip means nothing to me"

(Lord, I apologize for that there, and...be with the pygmies in New Guinea, amen)

lol
I've been using Zip in 200gr plated .45 ACP practice loads, not really a demanding application, but it works and burns clean.

Ok along that line...
ZIP must be for "ZIP guns"
True Blue must be for Police Officers,
Competition for competition,
Silhouette for shooting Silhouette targets and
of Course Magnum for Magnum rounds.:neener:

I like HP38 for some uses so it will be fun to give ZIP a try.
AA #2 is also on the try list if I see any at my LGS or they have it when I am ordering other stuff.
(don't wan't to pay hazmat for a lb)

I saw, on another forum, some chrony results of Zip as compared to some other powders. It was a bit faster, living up to its name, but not much difference overall.

I really like it!!

Will be happy to chrono and post ZIP results when I have a chance.

Still not here yet, coming clear across county so it takes a bit since it had to go ground.
