I picked up a glock 30 with my tax money. Cant help but notice my 10 round mags wont load 10. I mean I can fit 10 in but its tight and the slide won't pull back. Anyone else have this issue? Is it just tight springs in the mag? If so any tips to help.

Glock 30s are notorious for being hard to load the 10th round. They have very strong springs. Load them up as much as you can and let them sit for a week or so, this will help the springs to take a set and be a little easier to load.

Don't let them sit, that won't break the springs in. SHOOT IT! If you're having trouble racking the slide, you might be trying to sling-shot it instead of using an overhand grip. Two fingers at the back of the slide isn't as strong as all your fingers and the palm of your hand on the slide. Worst case, lock the slide back and insert the magazine, then use the overhand grip to release the slide into battery - problem solved. But SHOOT IT!

If you can't shoot it, then cycle rounds through the magazine. By this I mean load the magazines, dump the rounds back out, and re-load the magazines. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Springs get "broken in" or "worn out" by the compression cycle, not from just sitting there compressed.

Edit to add: Keep in mind, the 10 rd magazine for the G30 is a 9rd with a baseplate extension. The 9rd is more concealable, the 10rd more shootable. You really should be using the Glock magazine loader in either case.

Chamber with a partially full magazine then finish loading it.

I'll be here all week.

Haha first thing I did was get the upula loader. And I'm not sling ****ting it. It feels like its catching k
On the casing. But yeah ill take it out to break it in. I've only put 50 of my 200 I have in it....dang Maine weather

Loading a magazine will "shorten" the spring and you can see it quite easily. Pull a brand new unused/never loaded spring and lay it on a piece of white paper. Mark the paper at each end of the spring.

Then reassemble the magazine and load it as full as you can get it. After, oh two weeks say, of sitting untouched and loaded repeat the process above but lay the spring where you made the markings on the paper. You'll see the new "used" spring is shorter than the new "unused" spring.

The new "used" spring has been "conditioned" for proper functioning.

Haha I have that speedloader and they are the 10s with the finger grip pierce baseplate. I cam squeeze 10 on but seating it is a hassle and the slide catches. I'm really just guessing I gotta break them in
