Greetings all. I recently started a thread on this topic(parts failures) reguarding the Mini14 over on Rifle Country. I learned a good bit. Hopefully the formula is repeatable.

I am interested in any parts breakages/failures in any model Glock. I would really prefer first person accounts rather than hearsay. Please bear in mind this is not a Glock vs. anything else thread.

For years my G22 has been flawless in operation. However, I figure at the least there must be some small part or spring that does give up the ghost on at least a somewhat frequent basis. Even it if does require a high round count to do so. All input appreciated.

I've had my Glock 17 since 1987 and to date have had zero breakages. It is my CCW gun and gets a minimum of 100 rounds/month at the range.

THE FRONT SIGHT ON MY G-19 GOT BANGED UP AND WAS LOOKING LOP SIDED AND I HAD TO REPLACE WITH A METAL ONE AFTER ABOUT 15,000 ROUNDS AND NUMEROUS MATCHES. HOPE THIS HELPS

I have personally broken a G34 framerail at about 25K rounds and a G17 genII extractor at roundcount unknown(Used gun) I think nothing of it, all guns break.

Slide lock springs break.
Standard trigger springs sometimes break.
Plastic front sight can be worn to unusable if the gun is carried and drawn regularly from a holster that does not feature a protected sight channel.
Factory captive plastic guide rods break.
Flat spring for takedown lever breaks, this is the most common repair I have done on Glocks and this usually involves the owner putting too much force on the lever during takedown or incorrectly attempting to reassemble the gun after field strip.

When I blew up my 21, the ramp on the barrel was torn, the mag release blew out of the grip and the magazine was in several parts. Honestly of the 5 Glocks I've owned, that was the only one that actually broke anything, so take that w/ the grain of salt it deserves :)
