Overall Glocks are some of the best and most reliable guns ever made. The exception to this rule is the 36.

Many are just fine but they are known as the one Glock model that is more likely to have functioning problems than all the others.

I've had both and would rather have the G30 for less perceived recoil and the best reliability - BUT - I ended up with the G26 (9mm) for the best fit to hand and ease of shooting with extreme reliability and outstanding accuracy in a subcompact Glock. I've settled on the 1911 platform for all of my launchers of the .45 ACP caliber bullets. 9mm for the Glock (or Browning HP), .45 ACP for the 1911...that's what they were designed around and that's what they're the best with...IMHO

I have a 30 and I agree with this. 45 does not seem to be a caliber well suited to the glock. From the lack of case head support +P ammo may not be safe. Heavy slide seems a bit unbalanced. Much muzzle flip and difficult follow up shots. Shooting the 1911 is so much more enjoyable, I don't even use this gun anymore. Are you dead set on 45? Take a serious look at the 26 and 27. 9mm is really the glocks caliber. If that is not enough then look seriously at the 40 cal 27. With a short barrel and no +p 45 ACP in the G30, a 40 cal +p G27 may be a better stopper in a smaller package.

oooooohhh man that picture doesnt do it justice that 36 was amazing in my hands the 30 is fat just like the others and thats what i was trying to escape and i did put the 36 in layaway soon soon i shall join the dark side
But it's only .14" slimmer- it CAN'T make a difference! Besides, didn't you notice the instruction that .45 is NOT in fact the GLOCK you seek? :neener:

Congrats, you made a fine choice. But imo you can't go wrong with ANY .45 GLOCK. Compact, slimline, fullsize, sf, gap, they're all good (don't let the interweb scare you too much- just shoot the hell out of it).

I would stick with 9mm glocks. They don't seem to handle other cartidges as well.

GLOCK 30!!!

G30 vs. G36,... no contest! The Glock 30 was originally designed to be a 10mm, so I'm sure it is waaaayyyy overbuilt, and that is a huge + in my book. I like to pack mine with 230gr. Gold Dot HP @ about 965 fps :what:  !!! Everybody complains about how thick the 30 is. I'm not very large, but I can carry mine comfortably all day in a side pocket without an obvious print.
